Role Summary:

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is an over trillion-dollar investment management firm entrusted by investors around the globe to help them navigate changing market environments, so they can confidently realize their long-term objectives.

The Scale and Platform Excellence Leader will be responsible for unlocking opportunities to drive scale and productivity in the business to enable NTAM's right to win. This critical role reports into the Head of NTAM Platform Innovation under the COO organization and will partner closely with NTAM leadership, including broader Finance, Real Estate, Risk, Technology leaders to identify, solution and execute on such initiatives. The right candidate will be a seasoned multi-disciplinary leader with strong strategic, business, and financial acumen, experience in championing productivity initiatives, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced matrixed environment. The role combines big picture thinking with hands-on leadership to support organizational growth and deliver business value.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Be part of the NTAM Platform Innovation team stood up to drive change and innovation in the business to strengthen and accelerate our right to win. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead complex cross functional initiatives and teams to drive scale in the business starting from ideation to value delivery using a consultative and disciplined approach.
  • Partner with global NTAM leaders to understand strategic business and functional priorities, identify opportunities to drive scale and effectiveness and build roadmaps to guide delivery
  • Drive/support business transformation efforts by planning and facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders to discover needs and / or rapid solutioning.
  • Partner with cross organizational teams including Finance, Real Estate, Third Party, Tech to identify perform consumption analysis and recommend potential scale/productivity opportunities to NTAM leadership.
  • Collaborate with NTAM leaders and COO India to further leverage India to support NTAM processes.
  • Build relationships within NTAM and COO teams to build consensus on plans to manage change.
  • Simplify complex issues and identify creative solutions to drive rapid issue resolution.
  • Partner with Data, Technology and Automation Teams to build solutions that align with strategic direction and ensure requisite governance requirements are complied with.
  • Promote a continuous improvement mind-set across the organization through education and demonstrating success stories.
  • Report on progress and value delivery leveraging suitable sets of milestones, KPIs, and metrics.
  • Involved in maintaining a robust risk and control environment capable of withstanding scrutiny from Internal Audit and other regulatory due diligence exercises.

Necessary Core Competencies, Experience, and Education

  • Seasoned multi-disciplinary leader with 15+ years of experience in Financial Services; Management Consulting experience highly desired.
  • Successful track record of driving scale and operational excellence initiatives and championing a continuous improvement and productivity mindset across teams.
  • Adept at leading and mentoring teams in matrixed organizations to deliver business outcomes.
  • Strong consultative skills ranging from interviewing stakeholders and analyzing data to gather insights, facilitating workshops, structured problem solving, business and financial analytics, influencing and consensus building, proactive risk management, disciplined execution, and communication.
  • Ability to adapt communication style and tools to meet the needs of a diverse audience.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, connect dots across disparate information and help teams successfully navigate complex problems/issues.
  • Well-developed program and change management skills, organized, and disciplined with an attention to detail and ability to execute via teams or individually.
  • Strong situational awareness, decision making capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management experience.
  • Ability to lead, prioritize, and deliver multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in leveraging data, digital and automation technology to deliver at accelerated speed.
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Finance or Engineering; MBA preferred.
