Creative Development Engineer (Finance)
POSITION SUMMARY
SGK is seeking a talented Creative Development Engineer to bring creative concepts to life by leading the prototyping and material development process.
In this role, you will translate design ideas into comprehensive development sets and design intent documents, ensuring seamless execution from concept to prototype. As a key collaborator, you will work closely with Design, Production, and Operations teams, maintaining brand standards and adhering to internal workflows. You'll support the Design Team with technical problem-solving, material selection, and documentation while driving innovation in the development of design elements. Once concepts are approved, you will take the lead in the prototyping process, partnering with design, account management, and project management teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions. Proficiency in SolidWorks and the Adobe Suite will be key to your success in this full-time hybrid role, which offers the flexibility of working both remotely and in our Pittsburgh, PA office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handles visual communication deliverables (solution development).
• Maintains a departmental partnership from concept to approved prototype.
• Leads project management and team communication as related to the development, engineering, and documentation of core project components, design intent maintenance, and suggested solutions.
• Research materials, processes, and vendors (internal and client based).
• Approves drawings, samples, and vendor documents in partnership with their team and on behalf of the project.
• Archives emails, responsible for timesheet reporting and schedules.
• Recommends and leads trainings for the advancement of the development offering and staff.
• Attends client meetings as necessary for direct development communication and inclusion in the development process.
• Ensures high quality standards throughout the development and prototype process and accurate, consistent, and timely completion of basic to advanced level client deliverables within budget, meeting client expectations, objectives, and creative brief specifications.
• Manages the prototyping process, defining what the prototype needs to be and managing internal and external partners.
• Supports the Design team with technical problem solving in the development of design elements and documentation.
• Assures quality standards for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to Management for improvements for first, best execution, tools, processes and/or assigned tasks.
• Works with client service, marketing, production, and/or project management departments to establish and evaluate design solutions for manufactured products.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• 6+ years design and development of retail fixtures, displays experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Adobe Design Suite and Solidworks.
• Intermediate to advanced drawing skills.
• Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
