Safety and Health Intern (Biotech)
Assist in conducting industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, EMF).
Participate in walkthroughs and audits at various worksite locations.
Assist with the creation of a safety newsletter.
Create and distribute annual metric reviews (injuries, incidents, near-misses, etc.)
Participate in procedure reviews and assist in making changes.
Assist with implementation of ergonomic program.
Participate in Central Safety Team meetings.
Encourage participation in national safety awareness programs.
Review and update Personal Protective Equipment assessments.
Continue EARfit studies and implement a training program.
Review and update chemical inventories through collaboration with department management.
Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus
Junior or Senior status preferred
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders for safety walk downs and investigations.
Normal office environment with minimum discomfort due to noise, dirt and dust.
Work includes occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions, fumes, odors, noise, dust, dirt etc.
