Accounts Receivable Specialist
Summary/Objective
The accounts receivable administrative assistant is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.
Accounts Receivable Specialist
$21.00-$23.00 per hour
Essential Functions
Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
Maintains records by reconciling invoices, payments, debits, and credits.
Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers.
Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
Summarizes receivables by maintaining customers' accounts; verifying totals; preparing reports.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Maintains effective communication within the team and with third-party receivable services.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.
Position Type - This is a full-time position.
Travel - No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to three years' previous experience.
