Lead Auto Cutting - Day Shift (Manufacturing)
Job Summary
You will lead a team of 5 - 10 employee's to safely meet production goals. You are responsible for ensuring your team completes their individual duties to support the line. You will also enforce and follow all standards and rules pertaining to safety, attendance, general work practices, and quality assurance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directly responsible for overseeing personnel and production to ensure the final product is manufactured safely, of high quality, and delivered on time to the customer.
· Be able to operate all sections/stations of the production line in order to conduct employee training and resolve problems.
· Receive direction and guidance from the Shift Supervisor in order to direct your team to complete production requirements efficiently.
· Propose new ideas to the Shift Supervisor on ways to achieve your production goals.
· Train new hires and/or transfers into the department.
· Ensure that all personnel, prior to the start of shift, are wearing the correct safety equipment and that safety awareness is maintained throughout the shift.
· Ensure that individuals are applying proper techniques that comply with quality control procedures.
· Check machinery before, during, and after shift for proper function and report to Supervisor or maintenance if necessary.
· Ensure that the work effort is being applied effectively and that company quality standards and production goals for the shift are met every day.
· Provide feedback to the Shift Supervisor regarding performance of department employees.
· Regular and predictable attendance and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
To be considered for a Lead position, the following conditions must be met:
· Ability to lead by example
· Good oral and written communication skills
· Basic computer familiarity
· Read and use a tape measure
· Read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals normally acquired through high school education or equivalency
