Medtronic
Sr. Test Engineer (Finance)
Position Description:
Responsible for the planning executing reliability testing and product verification efforts for products within the portfolio. Draft and release engineering and verification test plans, protocols, and reports and translate use conditions and functions into appropriate and validated test methods designed to evaluate and assess device operation in their intended environments comprehensively. Responsible for of defining verification strategy, reliability goals, and developing requirements test methods based on use-conditions across electro- mechanical products with Class III Medical Devices classification. Perform FEA Simulations to identify the effect of use conditions on design reliability and structural analysis using tools including ANSYS Sherlock and Mechanical and derive mathematical models and transfer functions to understand design margin against known stressors. Plan and set up HALT testing to determine potential failure modes and identify targeted design improvement areas. Derive acceleration factors based for accelerated testing including end of life test, Fatigue and UV exposure testing. Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE), performed root cause analysis (RCA), and recommended corrective and/or preventive actions based on structured failure methods and investigations. Set up Reliability models perform life analysis using ReliaSoft Weibull++, ALTA, BlockSim, RGA, and XFMEA, and calculate the number of cycles in fatigue testing using n-code. Design and complete test method validation of test fixtures for mechanical testing, including push, pull, torque, bend, impact, and drop testing. Operate lab equipment including Instron, torque testers, 3D printers, CNC Machines, LCR meter, Signal Generator, Microscopes, Digital Microscopes, Soldering equipment, IPX8 tanks, Artificial tissues, DAQs and thermocouples. *Multiple positions available. **Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. ***Relocation assistance not available for this position. #LI-DNI.
