Position Duties: 1. Reviews daily requirements for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift. 2. Supervises and directs personnel on shifts in performing operations according to sound operating principles, customers requirements and the organizations policies and procedures. 3. Supervises and directs the Coordinator of Health and Safety and Training in performing job duties. 4. Researches and evaluates work operations, production methods and equipment. Analyzes information and determines potential hazards and violations of OSHA, MIOSHA and/or other industry standards. 5. Identifies hazards that have an impact on worker health and safety, analyzes safety programs and evaluates whether adequate protections are provided to employees. 6. Adheres to and promotes organization safety policies and practices. Assures that work site personnel use designated personal protective equipment and follows established standard operating procedures in the performance of their duties. 7. Prepares written reports of assessment findings, issues notices of potential hazard alerts, and provides recommendations to eliminate or mitigate health and safety hazards and concerns. 8. Enhances the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that boost employee workplace performance and brings employees into compliance with safety requirements in conjunction with the Companys core values. 9. Assist with the development of department budget. 10. Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy. 11. Give work directions, resolve problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work. 12. Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices. 13. Directs personnel in the receipt of materials and supplies against quantities ordered and quality of specifications and advises purchasing department of deviations.
14. Work with the Plant Manager to ensure proper coverage for the department. 15. Assist with maintaining quality control for all department operations. 16. Maintain an interest in the expansion of the Investment Recovery Department to offer more employment opportunities. 17. Maintain open and efficient methods of communication with the department, the organization, and the consumer. Responds to customer service needs, when necessary. 18. Responsible for assisting Operations with Internal audits of its quality system(s) as an objective observer. 19. Prepares monthly required reports on the safety and training operations of the department to the Plant Manager. 20. Applies the organizations employee relation policies in all dealings with employees. 21. Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical conduct as required in the organizations employee manual. 22. Performs all duties to the standard established by the organization, its funding sources, regulatory bodies or other customers. 23. Perform other related duties as assigned.
