The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Academic Pediatrician at an open rank. The Division of General Pediatrics manages all areas of childcare from birth to young adulthood. Duties include patient care, teaching and supervising a variety of learners with opportunities to be involved in clinical and basic research. Experience in an outpatient/ hospital setting is preferred. A Florida medical license will be required prior to assuming the position.
The physician will be responsible for providing direct medical care to patients in the hospital at Tampa General Hospital, University of South Florida College of Medicine Pediatric clinics and TGH outpatient sites. The faculty will be primarily assigned to cover outpatient clinics and the well-baby nursery (no delivery room attendance). Overnight weeks of call are from home; call weeks and weekends are shared within the general pediatrics division and are generally 1 week out of 5.\n

Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the appropiate rank.

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.

Must be board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
