Financial Analyst 1 (Finance)
1. Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
2. Analyze financial accounting data and documents trends.
3. Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis of reports.
4. Monitor and reconcile FRS accounting activities; prepare entries, modifications and analysis.
5. Assist with maintenance of financial reporting systems and provide technical support.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
Department is willing to accept experience in lieu of education.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of finance and budget
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including analyzing and presenting data
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills and attention to detail
• Degree in Accounting
Position includes the following responsibilities:
• Assists college/department business administrators with questions relating to the accounting activity.
• Prepares journal entries to correct FRS records; conducts monthly reconciliations; review transfers to state or federal agencies
• Prepares recurring financial reports for state and/or federal agencies
