Job Title: Harvest QA Technician Location: North Platte, Nebraska Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and rigorous QA Technician responsible for conducting physical and visual inspections and audits of products and plant systems (CCPs, SOPs, SSOPs). This role involves documenting and calculating results accurately, taking corrective actions when necessary, and alerting appropriate personnel of deficiencies. Responsibilities include identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, reporting results to management, and performing additional assignments as requested. All team members are responsible for ensuring safety, including food safety and personal safety. Key Responsibilities: · Monitor compliance with SOPs, SSOPs, and GMPs. · Perform HACCP procedures to comply with federal regulations. · Communicate with the USDA and provide records upon request. · Review records for accuracy and take responsibility for their correctness. · Assist QA supervision and management by gathering data and investigating issues beyond regular technician duties. · Collaborate with production associates to monitor product specifications and address deficiencies. · Solve problems and work independently for extended periods. · Perform extended walking and standing in a cold/freezing environment. · Maintain a positive and proactive attitude and work closely with operations. · Ensure product integrity and food safety. · Communicate effectively and explain situations clearly. · Be detail-oriented, disciplined, and reliable. · Handle mentally and physically challenging work. · Push, pull, and lift products repeatedly. · Crosstrain in other QA functions and responsibilities. · Be a team player and work well in a collaborative environment. Required Qualifications: · Ability to read, write, and speak English. · Ability to learn technical procedures and concepts. · Basic knowledge of safe food handling practices. · Basic knowledge of employee safety practices. · Basic math skills. · Ability to audit documentation and processes for compliance. · Ability to inspect facilities for compliance. · Ability to perform electronic data entry into various computer platforms. Preferred Qualifications: · Previous experience in food safety, quality, or regulatory roles. · Bilingual (English/Spanish). · Strong understanding of USDA-FSIS requirements. · Proficient knife skills. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with the ability to collaborate and communicate across departments to address core food safety issues related to QA tasks and responsibilities.
