SUMMARY The Licensed Practical Nurse manages, organizes and administers nursing care for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as PMHC policies is a condition of employment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Incumbent must have the skills, ability and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation: Participates in the identification of information regarding the patient's physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs for patients of all ages.Documents and reports, when necessary, symptoms, reactions, and changes in the patient's condition to the Team leader.Assists in the development, implementation, revision and evaluation of a formal plan of care.Administers medications using the "Five Rights of Medication Administration".Provides and instructs patients and/or their families with educational information appropriate for age and learning abilities.Creates and maintains a comfortable and safe environment for patients, families and visitors.Organizes and prioritizes daily assignments to provide optimal patient care.Demonstrates competency annually in assigned areas of work.Maintains patient and employee confidentiality at all times.Complies with PMHC Code of Conduct. REQUIRED EDUCATION Degree or Diploma from an accredited college of nursing. COMPETENCIES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Nebraska.Current BLS certification.
