The following duties are normal for some or all positions in the Press Department . The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively.
Perform or assist with setups and operation of flexographic printing press.
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.
Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands.
Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area.
Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Other Requirements (education, experience, skills/knowledge):
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical degree in Printing preferred.
2-3 years of printing experience required.
Possess the ability to blend and color match ink.
Good computer skills.
Must be able to rotate shifts and work overtime (including weekends).
Possess the ability to take direction, work with supervision, and work well within a team.
Good verbal and written communication.
Shift: 2-2-3 (12 hour) rotating shift
Pay:
Utility starts at $22.00/hour
Press Helpers start at $23.75/hour.
Second Press Operator starts at $24.57/hour
Plate Mounters start at $24.57/hour
Linerflex Operator starts at $25.94/hour
F&K and Bobst Press Operator starts at $27.31/hour
Shift differential is $1.25/hour for PM shift
