Folder Gluer Helper - 2nd Shift (Finance)
The Folder Gluer Feeder assists and supports the Folder Gluer Operator in keeping the equipment running efficiently. The Folder Gluer Feeder will primarily feed the machine to maintain accurate and efficient production of materials. This person will also provide support with the setup and operation of equipment. The Folder Gluer Feeder is to be trained to act as a Backup Folder Gluer Operator.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
Set up the feeder and keep it running properly
Review the schedule and stage required stock and materials needed for upcoming jobs
Setup the asset in a timely manner for various sizes of product
Distinguish between different carton stock types and their specific performance characteristics
Distinguish between different carton styles and functionality
Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
Program and monitor our Leary adhesive detection system(s)
Be competent in the tasks required to be able to move between all folder gluer and finishing equipment and shifts to fill for vacation and absences as needed, and to rotate positions during the shift
Provide guidance and direction to assigned machine crew
Work as a team to run the folder gluers through breaks and shift changes
Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
