Receiving/Security Clerk - Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center (Finance)

The beautiful Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center is looking for a full-time Receiving/Security Clerk to join their team ! This 384-suite property is set in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of D.C., just two blocks from the Washington Convention Center and a mile from the National Mall.

In this combination role, you will focus on the hotel receiving/loading dock security Tuesday through Friday, whereas on Saturday (when the hotel is not receiving deliveries) the emphasis of the position will be the security patrol of the entire building! The ideal candidate for this position is an able-bodied person who can keep up with the physical demands of the position, who is a good communicator, a self-starter and is tech savvy!

It would be considered assets for this position to have previous experience with purchasing/receiving (including exposure to the e-procurement platform Smart Spend), previous FNB/culinary operations experience (either at a hotel or standalone restaurant), and to possess a security license!

Pay Rate: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour (final offer based on experience)

Shift Pattern: candidates should be available to work both AM and PM shift as needed, Tuesday - Saturday (holidays as needed)

What will I be doing?

• Accepting all purchased products into the hotel, verifying accuracy of delivery to purchase orders
• Conducting Inventories/ Maintaining storeroom in accordance with standards and rotates stock accordingly
• Issuing and delivering items to departments in accordance with the requisition policies and procedures
• Maintaining the cleanliness/working order of the loading dock, storeroom and coolers/freezers as needed
• Patrolling the interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions
• Responding to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property
• Promoting safe work practices
• Initiating preliminary investigations into incidents, as needed
• Writing reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation, as needed
• Responding to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
