Job Description Summary

As theMarketing Manager, you will execute marketing strategies to achieve Hotel and Food & Beverage revenue goals, drive awareness of The Royal Sonesta New Orleans and its Food and Beverage outlets and engage with the community by assisting with property social networks and review sites You'll be part of a team building incredible and relevant content, marketing campaigns, and promotions as well as a social footprint that will express the property's essence and tone of voice, engage visitors with insightful and thought-provoking content and help us turn fans, followers and readers into leads and customers.

Job Description

Key Job Functions

• Assist Director of Sales & Marketing, Food and Beverage Director, and General Manager with ideation and execution of quarterly action plans for Rooms and Food & Beverage
• You are the Brand Ambassador, you understand our brand, products, and customers to ensure content meets the marketing strategy and reflects the brand
• Drive the day-to-day management of Hotel and Food & Beverage social media accounts, programs & Initiatives
• Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Food & Beverage Team to create topics and multimedia creation that encourages customer participation & community engagement within and outside the hotel
• Manage media stays and work with influencers
• Manage photoshoots
• Manage event planning for on-property activations
• Facilitate weekly cross-functional and cross-departmental meetings in order to communicate all promotions and initiatives in a timely and professional manner. You will be responsible for recording and distributing takeaways, initiatives, and action items
• Ensure consistent message, tone, voice, proper grammar, and spelling are used across all content and communication created
• Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing, the property's PR and Digital agency in the ideation and execution of traditional and contemporary PR and Digital Strategies.
• Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing in creating an email marketing database and email campaigns
• Maintain accurate and current tracking systems for all current, upcoming, and past initiatives
• Analyze and report, and assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with developing recommendations for optimizing marketing strategies
• Attend and contribute ideas in monthly Digital Media calls, PR, and weekly F&B marketing meetings
• Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing and property leadership team in reviewing digital and printed creative pieces and ensure they match brand guidelines

Qualifications and Skills

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

• Minimum 1-2 years experience working with social media / digital marketing, preferably in a hotel/restaurant environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels of management
• Collaborative approach with all departments, particularly food & beverage and of course, the sales & marketing and operations team
• Great team player with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the property
• Creativity and innovation are essential!
• Must be able to work early morning, late nights or weekends based on the schedule activation, event or business need
• Experienced in Canva, Microsoft Office, Social Media Platforms, Wordpress CMS
• Ability to think outside the box and approach all issues with a completely fresh approach
• Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions. Enthusiastic, passionate, able to enthuse and motivate others
• Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license

Education and/or Experience

Prior marketing and social media marketing experience, college degree preferred.
