School Health Clinic Assistant (Project Management)
Under general supervision, assists medical and/or mental health staff in adolescent health clinic (AHC) by performing clerical duties, and limited clinical support. This is a 24 hour per week (3 day) position, based out of the Wexford Adolescent Wellness Center inside Cadillac High School. Fridays will be spent working at the Grayling Viking Wellness Center. The individual will spend the other 2 days helping cover the front desk and doing clerical duties at other adolescent health centers in the jurisdiction as needed. Answers and addresses AHC phone calls; greets and directs visitors.Assesses client eligibility, captures appointment need and schedules accordingly.Performs general clerical duties such as making photocopies, typing, scanning, faxing, completing forms, and so forth.Maintains efficient clinic flow by serving as liaison between clients, school staff, and clinic staff.Verifies and accurately updates electronic health record (EHR) with demographic, medical, and billing/financial information.Prepares for client appointments by reviewing and updating records per protocol. Verifies risk assessment status and initiates risk assessment tool if appropriate.Maintains exam rooms according to protocols: Cleans rooms between patient exams to ensure clients' comfort and compliance with infection control standards.May perform vitals including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight. Accurately records data in EHR.Orders and balances vaccines. Orders clinic supplies as needed.Participates in agencys Emergency Preparedness Incident Command System (ICS) as assigned.Enrolls clients in Medicaid as needed.Makes appropriate referrals to community resources, including DHD#10 services.May perform and document quality control tests on lab equipment.Maintains up-to-date vaccines including flu (influenza,) in accordance with CDC guidelines: Recommended Vaccines for Healthcare Workers.
