Job Summary
As a manufacturing Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager, you will be the focal point for all QA/QC functional and strategic aspects of the business. This includes owning the local QMS system to ensure compliance with the ISO/API and relevant certification Standards, managing recertification and annual audits, and understanding and ensuring the mfg operations are compliant to implemented Policies, Procedures, Systems and Standards. You will directly maintain the QMS System by creating, editing and reviewing documents to be aligned with Canrig Operations.
This role will lead a team of Quality Control Inspectors and Supplier Quality Specialists where focus will be on continual improvement of the processes of the QMS as well as of the facility operations relevant to supporting the defined Quality standards for the industry. This role leads the local and global QC teams to ensure consistent application of Quality Control procedures and processes across multiple locations This role is responsible for establishing Group KPIs, goals, and developing a Quality approach to mfg to support and align with the overall Canrig Business Plan.
As the Leader of the global manufacturing QC teams you will ensure consistency in implementing practices, procedures and policies within global QC functional operations. You will guide, direct, mentor and support the Quality teams on conducting qualitative risk assessments, NCR tracking and trend analysis, and Supplier quality while supporting Strategic Sourcing's Supplier development efforts. You will drive root cause analysis and collaborate with manufacturing teams to define and implement corrective actions and preventive actions.
The Quality Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring consistent quality in both Systems and Products, and driving processes which ensure all manufactured products meet quality standards before leaving the facility, and the operations of manufacturing support with and comply to our ISO & API Quality Standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Functional Requirements:
• Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
• Administers, maintains, and audits the company's ISO 9001, API Q1 programs and applicable product licenses. This includes maintaining internal audit requirements, owning the CAR & PAR processes, the Warranty program and ISO/API recertification requirements. Maintain and implement QMS policies and procedures within the organization.
• Collaborate with the Site Lean Leader to drive continuous improvement within the processes and methodologies of manufacturing.
• Lead Canrig Annual Quality Reviews and contribute to business unit quarterly performance reporting.
• Support efforts to maintain third party product requirements such as ABS, DNV, API and other applicable standards.
• Oversee and participate in on-site customer, API, and 3rd party audits.
• Responsible for overseeing and ensuring effective outcome of part and/or product failure analysis; including receiving and processing the failure reports, conducting a thorough investigation, determining root cause, eliminating or reducing risk as a result of the root cause, and assessing impact of failure through the supply chain and to the end use customer. Responsible for determining if product recall is required.
• Ensures quality records are collected and stored according to documented procedures.
Quality Control Functional Requirements:
• Working knowledge of various QC dimensional and tolerancing methodologies. Able to support QC from a technical approach relative to ensuring proper inspection approaches are being used and inspectors are technically competent.
• Develop strategies for increasing value-add productivity of the QC inspection team to include development of dock-to-stock parts receiving to reduce incoming inspection, defining criteria for critical vs. non-critical parts inspection, identifying and implementing automation within inspection activities and proposing inspection technologies to reduce human error.
• Conducting qualitative risk assessments and root cause analysis and corrective actions, aligned to continuous improvement.
• Implement KPIs, goals, targets, objectives, and strategies relevant to Quality Control of internal and supplier processes.
• Manage, through the Quality team, Supplier quality challenges and assist Supplier in resolving and eliminating product non-conformance and eliminating root cause.
• Drive resolution of quality issues in collaboration with Shop Floor, MEs, Engineering, and Quality
• Manage the product warranty claim process, to include validation of the cause of the product or part failure and determination of disposition.
• Work directly with customers on investigations, resolutions and review of customer technical requirements.
• Ensure effectiveness of the overall Quality Control operation to include inspection tool calibration, CMM maintenance and utilization, lot inspection control, NDE inspection programs, CWI certifications, etc.
• Participating in tender & contract reviews and the development of quality plans to support contracts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a team of Quality Control Inspectors, Documentation Specialist and Supplier Quality/Failure Analysis personnel.
Local team primarily with a few QC Inspectors embedded in select global facilities.MInimum Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in science, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Technical preferred
10 years of experience in a quality management role
Minimum of 10 years Oil & Gas industry experience.
Experience Managing ISO 9000 and API Systems.
Experience as a Lead Quality Auditor.
Experience leading both Quality Assurance and Quality Control organizations.
Certified Six Sigma
