Butcher (Food Services)
Our Butchers are responsible for providing excellent customer service at the counter assisting customers with their questions and orders. Individual must be adept at cutting and preparing meat, feeling comfortable handling industrial butchering equipment and familiarity with best practices and all applicable laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
Counter duties include:
Arranging cuts of meat and placing them in an attractive manner in the display case so that customers will wish to purchase them.
Weigh, label and price a variety of cuts of meat for on-demand selections by customers in an efficient manner that keeps customers satisfied.
Using skewers, bone knives, twine and other tools to lace, tie and shape roasts so that they are ready for customers to buy and cook.
Hands on butcher job duties include:
Receiving deliveries of meat and inspecting them to ensure that they adhere to the highest quality standards.
Keeping records, budgets, and inventory
In accordance with Uncle Gs strict old school cutting techniques and protocols, using meat grinders, knives, saws and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions.
Other duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent
Must have a minimum of 7+ years of experience working as a butcher using a bandsaw in a fast paced environment
Must be able to work efficiently while following all company safety guidelines and policesMust be able to speak, read and understand the English languageMust be punctual and reliable to work shift
