Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to plan and implement learning opportunities that further children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development.
Job Duties:
Develop and implement developmentally appropriate activities dailyConduct daily health checks and ensure the environment is clean, safe, and free of hazards.Develop experience and implement individualized activities based on the developmental level of each child.Create learning environments in the classroom and outside for young children which promote experimentation and exploration.Facilitate and assist children in developing positive relationships that support a caring community within the classroomCommunicate effectively with parents in promoting parental involvement in their child's early learning experienceConduct screenings and ongoing assessments of each child's growth and development; use the information to refer children with potential delays.Maintain and update records on all children enrolled in the classroom.
Formal Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in a related field with ten classes in Early Childhood Education.Two years-experience as a teacher at the Pre-School Level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of Early Childhood development and educationKnowledge of Early Childhood classroom management and organizational skillsKnowledge of emergency procedures for young childrenAbility to communicate effectively with parents and include them in their child's learning process.
