Overview:
• Welds metal components together with brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, rig equipment, modules, motors and generators by performing duties as required.
Key Relevant Tasks:
• Maintain welding supply inventory
• Document work performed on machinery
• Weld metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
• Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding
• Repairs broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increases size of metal parts.
• Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding
Essential Functions:
• Have knowledge of and understand Nabors Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policy
• Have knowledge of possible health, safety and environmental impact of state and federal regulatory compliance requirements associated with oil and gas drilling operations
• Have knowledge of Environmental Management System (EMS) operation, key personnel and their functions, and responsibilities
• Correct use of required activity permits and MSDS sheets
• Implementing Nabors safety and Hazard recognition programs each shift
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction, correspondence and memos
• Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics Minimum Qualifications:
• Specific certifications, licenses and other registrations that may be required depending upon the nature of the work to be accomplished or by state, local or site specific entities
• Oil field experience
