Youth Development and Community Engagement Manager (Project Management)
Purpose or General Objective: Lead, direct, manage and facilitate community partner recruitment, retention, and engagement in support of the development and successful implementation of Battle Creek Central High School (BCCHS) Career Academies. Essential Duties: Recruit and retain community business partner volunteers and coordinate the design, development, delivery evaluation and reporting for career pathway-aligned experiences for students. These experiences may include job and/or career fair(s), career panels, industry tours, job shadowing, guest speakers, mock interviews, project-based learning, internships, and Supervise and direct Workforce Development Specialist Youth Development. Delegate work assignments as needed to accomplish goals and Serve as the communication liaison for the Battle Creek community and BCCHS Career Work collaboratively with the Convening Organization (Goodwill), the Battle Creek Central High School Career Coach, and others within Battle Creek Public Schools to ensure effective community engagement in BCCHS Career Collaborate with the BCCHS Career Coach as needed to implement BCCHS Career Academies student Manage and facilitate all meetings and events with BCCHS Career Academies community partners, referral sources, students, and parents/guardians as Support the BCCHS Career Academies Council; attend meetings, co-develop all agendas with the council co- chairs and vice chair; manage meeting facilitation, logistics and activities identified by the council; disseminate notes and action items to council members, and support council member Support the BCCHS Career Academies Advisory Boards; serve as a member of each board, recruit and secure community partners to serve as advisory board members from the community- at- large, and support BCCHS Career Coach in managing logistics and activities identified by the advisory Manage and facilitate the work of Tactical teams composed of representatives of Battle Creek Public Schools, employers, government agencies, colleges and universities, and non-profit community-based Assist BCCHS Career Academies partners in identifying and removing barriers to education and Use coaching and motivational interviewing techniques to ensure BCCHS Career Academies participants are creating and setting their own Collect, maintain, synthesize, and report BCCHS Career Academies partner engagement and program Conduct annual partnership reviews with BCCHS Career Academies community partners and provide BCPS with resulting data and Represent Goodwill and Battle Creek Central High School Career Academies in a professional and dignified manner. Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Ford Next Generation Leadership Community Coach assigned to the Battle Creek Central High School Career Academies. Attend position-aligned conferences and workshops. Recruit community partners and students to for participation in Goodwill youth programs. Expected Results: Develop a growing network of partners that support through volunteering the efforts of the BCCHS Career Academies. Manage Council and Advisory Boards outreach and engagement. Maintain a positive and effective partnership with BCCHS administrators, staff, teachers and students.
