Newborn Nursery APP / Instructor (Finance)
The Muma Children's Hospital at TGH has a total of 180 pediatric beds and provides a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and rehabilitative services for infants, children and adolescents. It features a 10-bed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) which serves as a Level I trauma unit as well as a burn unit, an 82-bed state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with 52,000 square feet of space, 48 inpatient floor-level beds including general, surgical and subspecialty patients, and one of just three outpatient pediatric dialysis units in the state. With over 8,000 deliveries each year, Tampa General has one of the busiest newborn services in the region and is proud to have international recognition as a Baby-Friendly® designated birth facility.
Performs professional care according to established standards, established protocols and practices, and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Assesses patient condition, takes medical history, and makes diagnosis. Performs nurse practitioner activities. Records appropriate information on patient chart. Administers and/or prescribes medications, treatments and plan of care per established protocol. Counsels patients/families. Evaluates progress of patient. May perform other specified acts of medical and nursing care within the licensed specialty. Performs other duties as assigned.Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible.
Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a hospital setting, preferably in Pediatrics.The University of South Florida is a high-impact global research university dedicated to student success.
