The primary function of the child CPST Provider is to provide goal directed supports and solution focused interventions intended to achieve identified goals or objectives as set forth in the consumer's individualized treatment plan. CPST (Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment) is a face to face intervention with the consumer present; however, family or other collaterals may also be involved. These services are provided in agency, school, home and other community settings. The CPST Provider will understand that Community Based Services programming is constantly changing and will embrace flexibility and openness to change. The CPST provider is responsible administratively to the CBS Program Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A BA/BS degree with an emphasis in mental health/human services or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education with one year experience substituting for one year of education. CPST Provider shall possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with SED children/adolescents/families and the ability to respond effectively in a wide variety of human service situations. Must be 21 years of age and have a current and valid Kansas driver's license. Employee must successfully complete Case Management Certification as stipulated by the State of Kansas.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Employee is required to complete appropriate on-line certifications through Training Teams prior to billing of services. Must attend Interactive Community Events (ICE) Training within six months of hire. Required to complete CPI, First Aid and CPR prior to providing a service in KDHE room.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to twenty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to a typical office environment and interaction with many different persons. In addition, the employee travels by automobile and is exposed to changing weather conditions. Must have a valid Kansas Driver's License and be insurable under the Mental Health Center's policy in order to operate a Center vehicle. The employee will interact with many different persons in varying stages of recovery from their mental illness.
